This work hearkens back to my 4 Elements (Helmets) series that was based on the ancient concept of the universe being composed of four Elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Titled Freedom Cubed or Air, this small sculpture gives a mixed message. Can freedom be constrained within the walls of a box? Since we all must live with at least some restrictions, I will cling to the hope that a certain level of freedom remains available to me.

Having taken about three months to complete, this work was created using the off-loom peyote stitch bead-weaving technique, in 40+ shades of glass seed beads over a hollow wooden cube.
