I find the colors and textures of our world irresistible. In fact, they permeate nearly all my work, making it sometimes difficult to categorize my artistic themes. In this so-called Earth Series, A Piece of Pennsylvania reflects my joy in the beauties of Chester County, our family home of some eighteen years. Southern to the Core was inspired by my husband, Lindsay, who moved North with me in 1999 from his birthplace, Richmond, Virginia.

The below work, titled Southern to the Core, was made as a gift for my dear husband Lindsay, of beloved memory. Even though we moved away from his home town of Richmond, Virginia, more than twenty years before I lost him, Lindsay’s wonderful accent and Southern Gentleman ways were with him till the end.
